Our Clinic

Dr. Sands is a registered clinical psychologist licensed to practice with adults, including older adults/seniors. 

Dr. Sands has more than 28 years of experience, obtained in hospitals and private practice. She received her training at the Clarke Institute of Psychiatry (now CAMH), Toronto East General and Orthpaedic Hospital, Sunnybrook Health Science Centre, and West Park Healthcare Centre.

Aside from providing psychological services, Dr. Sands is also a Capacity Assessor designated by the Office of the Public Guardian and Trustee. As such, she conducts assessments of individuals’ capacity to manage Property and/or Personal Care; give/revoke POAs for Property and/or Personal Care; and she provides opinions on testamentary capacity.

Her office is located in a wheelchair-accessible professional building in the heart of Newmarket, Ontario. She offers in-person appointments, as well as secure virtual services, or a hybrid of the two.

Her office administrator, Jeanne Martin, is in the office part-time Mondays to Thursdays managing the referral process and answering any questions which you may have.
